Nirit Shelowitz is Counsel to SLG’s Tel Aviv office.
Nirit brings strong analytical, communication, research, writing, and interpersonal skills to her legal practice. A results-oriented attorney, Nirit combines an attention to detail with a practical understanding of the clients’ desires to achieve optimal results.
Nirit is dedicated to preserving and memorializing the wishes of individuals in her Israeli Ongoing Power of Attorney practice. Too often, the personal choices of individuals in their most vulnerable states can be overlooked or disregarded if not properly documented.
With a multidisciplinary background that includes degrees in law, business, and psychology, Nirit has developed a unique approach to expressing the personal choices of individuals in their Ongoing Powers of Attorney, thereby: (i) ensuring the protection of an incapacitated individual’s decisions concerning personal, property, and medical matters; (ii) alleviating pressure on family members to make difficult decisions in the absence of an incapacitated individual’s express instructions; and (iii) minimizing the potential for legal conflicts.
Prior to joining SLG, Nirit served as the Head of the Legal Department for the Israel Center for the Blind, a leading non-profit organization supporting the needs of visually impaired individuals. In that role, Nirit combined direct legal representation with high-level advocacy, working alongside policymakers and legislators to advance accessibility and benefits for the blind, and advised visually impaired individuals on their rights, benefits, and protections under law.
