Robert S. Broder is Counsel to SLG’s New York Office.  With over 25 years of experience, Rob practices a wide variety of intellectual property law, including trademark and copyright prosecution and enforcement, domain and entertainment law and related business transactions and agreements.  Rob has developed a unique, client-centric approach to IP law, based on his in-house counsel experience as Associate Trademark and Copyright Counsel at Fortune 500 company Colgate-Palmolive (NYSE:CL) and as V.P. of Legal Affairs at CAK/Prudential.

Rob has deep experience with complex intellectual property issues.  He started his career as an associate at Pennie & Edmonds LLP (at the time one of the Nation’s oldest and largest Intellectual Property boutique firms), and subsequently had a long tenure as Trademark and Copyright counsel at Herrick, Feinstein LLP.

Rob received his law degree from the Touro Law Center, where he was awarded notable American Jurisprudence awards and the Dean’s School Service Award.  During law school, Rob clerked for the Hon. George Pratt of the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Hon. Eli Wager of the Supreme Court, Nassau County.  Rob also served as an Editor of the Law Review and was a recipient of the Nathan Burkan Copyright Award.

Rob is a member of both the International Trademark Association and Nassau County Bar Association and Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF).  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Operation SPLASH and donates his time to One is Greater Than None and Unleashed.
